Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a powerful tool for understanding your website’s traffic and visitor trends. While it’s designed for aggregate analysis rather than tracking individual users, it provides valuable insights into your site’s performance. This guide will walk you through integrating Google Analytics into your iHOUSEweb website.

A. Access Google Analytics

• Visit google.com/analytics 
• If you’re new to Google Analytics, you will be prompted to create an account for your website.
  
  

B. Create or Log into Your Google Account

• If you already have a Google account, log in to it.
• If not, create a new Google account to get started.
  
  

C. 5 Steps To Set Up Your Google Analytics Account

• Step 1. Account Creation, Provide a name for your GA Account
• Step 2. Property Creation, Provide a name for your GA Property Group
• Step 3. Business Details, Provide any business details to Google
• Step 4. Business Objectives, Check the relevant Business Objectives
• Step 5. Data Collection, Start collecting data for a specific website
  
  • Choose a platform, Select Web
  • Enter Website URL (www. ) and Website Name (stream name)
  • Press Create & continue 

In all we’ve created an Account, a Property, and a Data Stream

D. Obtain Your Measurement ID

• Continue the setup process until you receive your measurement ID that begins with ‘G-’
• Copy this ID as you will need it for integration with your iHOUSEweb website.
• Leave this Tab/Window open, and open a new Tab/Window to visit your iHouseweb Admin Menu.

E. Integrate Google Analytics with iHOUSEweb

• Access your iHOUSEweb admin menu.
• In the left side menu click SEO, and then Google Analytics under it.
• Check the box labeled “Activate Google Analytics” and save your changes.
• Enter your measurement ID.
• Press Save Settings

F. Verify Connection

• Return to your previous Tab/Window for Google Analytics.
• You can now press ‘Test Installation’
• Press Continue, your Web Stream Details will then display but no action needed. 
  
  • Note: this connection may take up to 48 hours for data to start to appear even if it shows the Test Installation as complete/correct.
• Click the side of your screen and select your website.
• You will likely see a ‘Data Collection is Pending’ message, you can then press Continue to Home.

You’re all set! Once data collection begins you start to see the data reflected in your Google Analytics Dashboard from Google.
